Who loves January? At Emm Bee Motorhomes, we can honestly say we love the month as it brought us the 2016 Caravan and Motorhome Show.
We were there as an exhibitor and also to check out all things motorhome (and a few caravan things too).
Here are a few of our memories – let us know yours, and if you didn’t go why not check it out in 2017?
Motorhome Manoeuvring
The Camping Club put on great sessions giving free tuition on how to become a motorhome manoeuvring master. Try saying that quickly!
It’s one of the natural concerns people have when considering buying a motorhome, yet motorhomes are actually easy to handle once you’ve learnt a few basics.
Motorhomes increasingly have a wealth of driver aids, they’ll probably drive themselves one day. But until that day you’ll have to do a few manoeuvres – thanks to sessions like these they never need be stressful again.
The accessories
We’ll be honest, this is one of the reasons we love attending – to see what wonderful new mtorhome accessories are available (and to maybe cast a puzzled eye over a couple of them!)
At the show you can always pick up a few exclusive discounts and also benefit from speaking to experts – often the inventor of the device.
We find, that while the brand new ideas are great, it’s often the latest takes of slightly older products which are the real must-haves.
Everyone has their own must-have luxuries (if it’s possible to have a must-have luxury!), but our heads were turned by advances in mobile WiFi hotspot and also some of the food and drink accessories such as quick ice cube makers, quality cookware and handy kitchen storage. Access your favourite programmes online, while enjoying great food and drink, what’s not to like!
And if you are interested in accessories, we found this Facebook page from RV Must Haves quite useful.
Seeing all the motorhomes in one place
At Emm-Bee we stock a wide variety of new motorhomes, but when you get an event like this the range on view is eye-catching.
This is the place where you can see all the latest motorhomes from the key manufacturers and enjoy some exclusive peaks of the models which will be hitting the roads later in 2016.
If you’re into motorhomes, then it really is an opportunity not to be missed. If you’re not interested in motorhomes what on earth are you still reading for?!
The food stage
Actually, it was the food and travel stage, but some of the food was a real standout from the event.
The kitchens on modern motorhomes mean you are only limited by your imagination and time. If you’re travelling into Europe you have access to some wonderful local delicacies, so planning a menu before you leave to tap into the regions you’re visiting can really enhance a holiday.
What got us salivating? Well, steak hache and chips might sound basic, but it looked and smelt divine. Anyone heading to Spain would have surely made a note of the quick chorizo paella.
Getting back to nature
While motorhome accessories are great, and who doesn’t love a driver aid or two, don’t we all really pack our bags to experience a bit of the outdoors?
At the show, there was plenty to remind everyone of how great it is to forgo the package holiday and instead set off on an adventure. Whether it was sessions showing how kids can enjoy nature, falconry displays or the best walking and cycling routes, it was a welcome reminder that having a motorhome allows you to make every holiday an adventure, to see what any area truly has to offer rather than sitting round the pool for a week turning pink.
Your thoughts
Were you at the show? If so, what were your highlights, what have we missed?
And next year, why not pop along to say hello.
