Laika has been building motorhomes in Tuscany since the 1960s, with Ecovip and Kreos becoming two of its best-known ranges. Both have evolved considerably over the years, which means the used market includes everything from earlier models at more accessible prices to recent examples with specifications much closer to the current generation.
That makes model year and specification particularly important when comparing pre-owned Laikas. Construction, heating systems, bed arrangements, storage and equipment can differ significantly between generations, so it’s worth looking beyond the model name and considering the individual vehicle.

Two Laikas carrying the same range name can be quite different vehicles if they were built several years apart. Ecovip and Kreos have both developed through multiple generations, with changes to construction, interior design, heating, storage and equipment along the way.
Start with the layout, but then look closely at the specification of the individual vehicle. Fixed single beds and island beds can provide useful storage beneath, while other arrangements prioritise lounge space or use additional beds to make better use of the interior during the day.
Weight and payload also deserve attention, particularly on larger or highly specified models. Accessories fitted after manufacture need to be considered alongside the original specification, especially if you intend to carry bikes or substantial touring equipment.

Laika has used insulation, double-floor construction and protected technical installations extensively across its motorhome ranges, particularly in Ecovip and Kreos. These features can provide useful additional storage as well as helping to protect water and technical systems in colder conditions.
The precise construction varies according to range and model year, so check the specification of the particular motorhome you’re considering. On an older Laika, condition and maintenance history are just as important as the original specification, including evidence of habitation checks and servicing.

Emm-Bee has represented Laika for more than 20 years, providing experience of both the current range and many of the earlier Ecovip and Kreos models that now appear on the used market.
That background can be useful when comparing different generations or checking how the specification of an older model differs from its modern equivalent. Servicing and aftercare are also available through the on-site workshop.
